Box Technologies and Maxwell's Bar and Grill - A recipe for Success
3rd February 2011

Box Technologies, the UK’s leading provider of customer interface technology solutions, have recently been appointed by Maxwell’s Bar & Grill, to develop their Point of Sale technology.

As the original gourmet burger restaurant, Maxwell’s Bar & Grill is a popular restaurant with excellent customer service standards. Maxwell’s management had identified that they needed to develop their point of sale technology, to cope with the demands of clients in 2011 and beyond.

Dave Dooley, Sales & Marketing Director, Box Technologies said “Maxwell’s had developed their own software, which was so successful they supply it to other restaurants and they looked to Box Technologies, to provide a technologically advanced hardware solution to complete the offering. As we have worked with Maxwell’s for the past 5 years, they trusted Box Technologies to produce a total solution in order to create the ideal customer interface”.

Box Technologies worked closely with Maxwell’s to gain a complete picture of what needed to be achieved, namely efficient customer service front of house but also effective management of covers and order processing behind the scenes.

Based on Maxwell’s desire for a sleek, silent solution, Box recommended a fanless EPoS system incorporating the Epson TM-T88V Thermal Printer for front of house printing. For the kitchens, they recommended the Epson TM-U220 Impact Printer, specially designed for the kitchen environment. The system was based around the 4POS 400 Expander Integrated EPoS Terminal.

Luca Settimo, IT Manager – Maxwell’s said: “I looked to Box to supply me with a robust EPoS solution. We are a slick operation and our customers expect nothing less than a smooth, seamless experience whether ordering, paying their bill or leaving a tip. With Box’s expertise and can-do attitude, I knew they would give me the best options. We’re delighted with the unit’s overall build quality – the latest generation of the 4PoS Expander is exceptionally well designed and all my staff have been incredibly impressed with it.”

Luca added: “The team are enthusiastic about how the new system has changed. It’s much easier to use, because all parts are easy to access, it’s simple to change parts if needed. For example, if a hard drive, Mag swipe reader or touch overlay needs to be changed, it’s very quick and easy.”
